The Life and Times of William Bligh RN Part 1

A presentation given to the Britannia Naval Research Association in February 2024. it is a look at the early career of William Bligh. While famous for the Mutiny on the Bounty and the Rum Rebellion, Bligh's background and early career and how he came to be chosen to command the Bounty is often overlooked and mis interpreted. This new review introduces original documents and evidence about the connections of the Bligh family and development of his connections with Captain James Cook, Duncan Campbell, Sir Joseph Banks and helps dispel many myths.
