This year is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Jane Austen, and as a celebration to her life, we thought it would be interesting to have a talk on her two naval brothers, Francis and Charles, who were such an inspiration to the characters in Mansfield Park and Persuasion.
James Walters has put together a study on their lives entitled “In the footsteps of Captain Wentworth”.
We shall also have a talk by Rob White on “The King’s Ships” a study of the vessels on which King Charles III served during his service in the Royal Navy.
